Supports prostate and urinary functions, naturally. Practically all men experience an enlargement of the prostate as they age.
Early symptoms usually set in after the age of 40. As the enlargement of the prostate gets worse, the most disturbing symptom is a persistent difficulty to pass water. This can become very uncomfortable and painful.
A standard treatment for an enlarged prostate over the past decades has been to remove surgically a substantial part of the prostate. That gets rid of the urination problem but unfortunately, nerves passing along the prostate often get cut as well. This will almost certainly mean a rather abrupt end to a man’s sex life. That vital organ’s function will, after the operation, primarily be that of a channel through which urine flows with little obstruction. Not an appealing perspective for a large number of men.
There are three herbal preparations that have classically been used to facilitate urinary flow in older men: saw palmetto, nettle root, and pygeum africanum. Since the beginning of the nineties, when in the US, restrictions on the promotion and sales of herbal medications were lifted, saw palmetto and, to a lesser extent, the other two herbals have been touted as a cheaper and healthier alternative to drugs that work just as well. And, most of all, the three herbal preparations are claimed NOT to interfere with sexual function.
The newest botanical to assist the prostate is a particular flower pollen: Cernitin Extract is an extract of the pollen of a variety of types of plants. This extract has a number of substances in its make-up: vitamins, amino acids, nucleic acids, minerals, unsaturated fatty acids, prostaglandin precursors, enzymes, plant hormones and more. Clinical research has looked at Cernitin Extract for conditions including immune function and liver support. The primary research on the compound, however, has looked at the effect of Cernitin on prostatitis. In one clinical trial 80% of men diagnosed with chronic prostatitis became symptom free in 12 weeks.
Saw Palmetto is highly useful to support prostate function in adult men, and so are a number of other plant extracts and nutrients. Four botanical extracts with recognized roles in prostate health are combined in Prostate SupportTM along with key trace elements and lycopene creating a highly beneficial prostate-support program. These ingredients influence testosterone metabolism and promote a favorable balance with dihydrotestosterone, help reduce an age-related decline in prostaglandin production, and help maintain normal cell and tissue functions of the prostate and urinary tract. Cernitin® flower pollen extract contributes a unique, natural spectrum of amino acids, carotenoids, flavonoids, phytosterols, nucleic acids, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes and has been shown in numerous clinical trials to be particularly beneficial for prostate and urinary function. Prostate SupportTM includes the full amount of Cernitin® used successfully in clinical studies.
